Some Celtic fans have been fuming at the latest comments that Arsenal legend Martin Keown recently made about the SPFL.
Keown was recently talking to Talksport (via Daily Record) about the SPFL. He said the authorities made the decision to end the leagues below the Premiership ‘too quickly’ and that it was like ‘holding a gun to the clubs’ heads’. He also branded the decision-making to be a ‘farce’ from the SPFL.
Daily Record relayed Keown’s comments on Twitter. Many Celtic fans flocked to this and made their anger for Keown very clear.
Martin Keown not understanding the complete financial disparity in both leagues does not surprise me. Whats the point in the media saying they want the Scottish game to advance and save clubs, while at the same time posting nonsense like this? Irresponsible

Has the SPFL decision-making been a 'farce'?
Absolutely not!
Yes!
Aye he’s really clued up on Scottish football. Does he even know where Scotland is?

Nonsense. What was the alternative to what has happened. Every league in England about to go through the same as we are

Last month, the SPFL confirmed that the leagues below the Premiership have ended and the titles were handed to the teams that were at the top. But Rangers released a statement saying that clubs were bullied and coerced by the SPFL into making the vote. The Gers even said that they were ready to fund for an investigation against the SPFL, but this resolution didn’t get enough votes to go through.
What do we think?
Keown is entitled to his opinion about the SPFL. But with Celtic 13 points clear at the top of the table and the favourites to win the title, it seems that the fans were not all too happy with what the pundit had to say.
