Celtic have announced via their official website that Brody Paterson has signed a contract extension with the club which will keep him with the Hoops until 2023. The 19-year-old winger has come through the ranks at Parkhead and is part of the side who reached the Reserve Cup final this season (as per celticfc.net).
The player is yet to make an appearance for Neil Lennon’s senior side, but for the club to put a new three-year contract in front of him suggests that the staff have high hopes for the left-footed attacker. Here is how a sample of the fans have responded to the news on Twitter.
Congratulations @brodypatersonn

Paterson was congratulated by these fans, but others appear to be more concerned about whether or not the club will be able to secure the long-term future of star striker Odsonne Edouard, who has netted 21 goals in 27 Scottish Premiership appearances this season (via Transfermarkt.co.uk).
That’s nice and Eddy is next?

It appears the fear of losing the 22-year-old Frenchman has overshadowed the news that Brody has extended his stay in the East End of Glasgow. The Bhoys were recently crowned as the Scottish Premiership champions for the ninth time in a row which is cause for celebration, however, there is much talk around a potential departure for Edouard and given his output this season, there is no doubt it will be a huge blow to Neil Lennon’s squad if he were to leave in the summer.
