A lot of Newcastle United fans have replied to a post from journalist Paul Smith as he reaffirmed his belief that the Toon’s proposed takeover will go through.
Smith claimed that he was not surprised that the constant contradictory information has bemused and upset fans.
Despite this, though, he is adamant that the takeover will be approved.
This has drawn a reaction from these Toon fans.
Are you with Smith on this one?
Yes
No
I’m not surprised the contradictory information regarding the #NUFCTakeover has bemused, infuriated and upset supporters in equal measure. Nonetheless I’ll continue to stand by my claims this deal will go through regardless #NUFC pic.twitter.com/F5jqbfr63o

It’s gone beyond pathetic. Reports that a WTO report will scupper the deal. However this report is confidential and supposedly not been seen by member states but the premier League supposedly have it.

I agree.

I believe it has already been done. PL have repeatedly said they won’t announce. MA wanted to announce 3 weeks ago. I think the new owners are putting a lot in place before an official reveal. None of the clickbait from parts of the UK media has shown a reason for this to fail.

Any ideas on when? Might save us refreshing Twitter every 5 minutes like the last 6 weeks ?

What do we think?
Last week a report from The Sun emerged that claimed that the takeover had been approved by the Premier League and was ready to be announced on 1st June.
However, on Tuesday, a report emerged claiming that the deal was now in serious doubt because of new evidence relating to piracy.
We therefore totally understand Smith’s point and understand why many Toon fans feel frustrated over this.
However, he remains positive, and hopefully, there will be a positive conclusion to this saga soon.
