A lot of Leeds United fans have replied to a tweet from Beren Cross that includes an article with quotes from some Brighton and Hove Albion fans about Ben White.
The piece was originally published on the Seagulls’ fansite WeAreBrighton.com, and they really go to town on Leeds.
First, they claim that White is an ‘outstanding talent’ and that he has stood out for Leeds United in a season where the Whites ‘might not bottle promotion’.
They then call Leeds an ‘irrelevance’ and that they ‘could send him back to Newport County, and there’s nothing the champions of Europe could do about it’.
Did you have a good laugh at this?
Yes
No
It is fair to say that this piece has drawn a great reaction from many Leeds fans, who are mocking Brighton.
Brighton fans have written an especially salty piece on Leeds United and everyone should read it, marvel at it. The anger is palpable. Imagine if Ben White stays. Glorious. #lufc https://t.co/YpeIzPyDYv

Incredible! I wonder how many of the points he made were actually made by Leeds fans…most likely the tabloids

They were laughing at us in August for rating him saying he was their 6th best CB. Weirdos.

He will either come to Leeds or go to a top 6 club. No chance hes staying at Brighton.

Won’t play a game for Brighton.

If we are an irrelevance then what does that make Brighton???
— Mitchell Emmerson (@MitchellEmmers2) April 27, 2020
Clearly unaware of player/agent power in the modern game. Bless.

@alex_wilson0508 I can taste the salt through my phone ???

Ooooooooo lol ? been serious I can’t see him setting foot in the place again, whether he stays with us or not

Salty indeed?
But if Brighton remain a Premier League club and Leeds join them in the top flight, there is no way that Bloom or Potter will sell to a relegation rival.

What do we think?
The Brighton fans who produced this piece clearly have some deep hatred for Leeds United, and they really don’t hide their feelings on the matter.
However, the truth is that once this season is over, White will return to the Seagulls.
What is less clear, though, is where he will be at the beginning of next season, as with the likes of Liverpool, Manchester City and United sniffing around (according to Phil Hay), he might not be playing for Leeds nor Brighton next year.
