The SPFL and SFA have praised UEFA’s stance on domestic competitions following an announcement on Thursday (via the Daily Record). European football’s governing body issued some guidelines in regards to eligibility for their own competitions and made a ‘strong recommendation’ to the various football associations to complete their top-tier domestic seasons whenever possible.
In the event this is not possible, UEFA says positions should be determined on ‘sporting merit’. In Scotland, the leagues below the top tier have already been called and decided based on the club’s points-per-game average, however, the Premiership is yet to follow suit (as per the Daily Record).
If they were to adopt the same approach, it would see Celtic crowned as champions. The report claims that it’s ‘unlikely’ the remainder of the Premiership season will be played out, suggesting Neil Lennon’s side could be declared as the winners in the near future.
How have some of the club’s supporters reacted?

If the rangers are so opposed to this conclusion on the grounds of sporting Integrity, then surely they can’t accept the 2nd place prize money as Motherwell and Aberdeen can still catch them ? I’d rather we waited as long as it takes to finish it with NO monies paid out at all

Do you think it's fair to name Celtic champions without playing the remaining fixtures?
Yes
No
Unbelievable! Are you not going to let the tribute act get a statement in?

What do we think?
It appears these Celtic fans were more interested in poking fun at Rangers than anything else. Considering they currently sit 13 points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership, it’s fair to assume most will have been confident of the trophy heading to Celtic Park anyway.
