A lot of Newcastle United fans have replied to a tweet from NUFC 360, which has relayed quotes made by Martin Samuel in the Daily Mail.
Samuel has produced a new piece on the takeover, in which he claims that Newcastle ‘needs owners with the imagination to realise potential, and maybe this new consortium will do that’.
This has gone down very well with a lot of Toon supporters, who seem to feel that Samuel knows something.
Is this the biggest indication yet that the takeover is happening?
Yes
No
Martin Samuel: “No club has the right to reside among the elite but Newcastle have been in the doldrums for too long. It needs owners with the imagination to realise potential and maybe this new consortium will do that.” #nufc

What do we think?
Samuel was the journalist who was granted an exclusive Mike Ashley interview last year, and just last week, he released another piece about this proposed takeover that was negative.
This latest piece, though, seems to be a lot more positive about the takeover, and, understandably, a few Toon fans think he knows something.
NUFC 360 even thinks that Samuel spoke to Ashley off the record.
The deal for Ashley to sell Newcastle is now thought to be in the hands of the Premier League, and according to sources, will be completed in the coming days.
So, it remains to be seen what happens, but this piece from Samuel was positive as far as the fate any successful takeover is concerned.
