Rangers managed to beat Ross County 1-0 on the weekend, ending a two-game losing streak. The win could provide a huge boost to the side’s confidence as they head into a UEFA Europa League round-of-16 match against Bayer Leverkusen later this week.
However, while the Gers achieved all three points, fans were peeved at Steven Gerrard’s decision to sub off Ianis Hagi. The English manager took the Romanian off in the 63rd minute, when his side were still tied at 0-0.
When the club’s Twitter account announced the substitution, the fans were up in arms. They believe that the player was being punished for trying to make stuff happen going forward. They thought it should have been Ryan Kent coming off the field instead.
Hagi is the only player that looked like doing anything to break them down bizarre!!

Why Hagi off instead of the most ineffective 6.5mill we ever spent AKA Ryan Kent

Hagi getting punished for wanting to pass forward

Good decision. Take off the boy that wants to win, need to make it known that we don’t do that here

Another fan reckons that Hagi may be put off coming to Rangers on a permanent deal in the summer. He is currently only at Ibrox on loan.
He’s never coming to us in the summer, pathetic he’s been taken off when Kent is still on the park

Was subbing off Ianis Hagi the right call?
Yes
No
What do we think?
Hindsight is a brilliant thing. While some Gers fans were screaming for Gerrard to take off Kent instead, the English winger went on to score the match-winning goal. We still think that they would have much preferred Hagi to stay on over someone else, however.
