Fans of Leeds United have been reacting to Phil Hay’s post on Twitter, in which the Athletic writer discusses the potential impact that the coronavirus pandemic could have on the English Football League.

The operation of English football is beginning to feel the effects of coronavirus, with Nottingham Forest and Olympiakos owner Evangelos Marinakis confirming that he had been diagnosed with the virus on Tuesday.

Having attended Nottingham Forest’s fixture with Millwall the previous Friday, as well as Arsenal’s fixture with Olympiakos on 27 February, the Gunners’ Premier League tie against Manchester City, scheduled for Wednesday evening, was subsequently postponed.

On Thursday, Brendan Rodgers confirmed that three Leicester City players were in isolation after showing symptoms of the virus, while in Spain, the Real Madrid squad have been placed in quarantine, which has led to the suspension of La Liga for at least the next two rounds of matches.

Following Phil Hay’s recent post on Twitter, in which The Athletic’s Leeds writer reports that EFL fixtures remain to be played as scheduled this weekend, fans of the club have been making their opinions heard on social media, replying to Hay’s tweet in their droves.
