Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa is sticking to his flat as much as possible in order to protect himself from the viral outbreak that has seen English football suspended until at the earliest, April 30th.

The update came from Leeds Live’s Beren Cross on Wednesday which read:

‘As far as I understand he is knocking around Wetherby still, licking his wounds after Costa closed. Thorp Arch is still an option for people to visit, on their own, but I believe Bielsa is still sticking to his flat where possible. He’s not one to ignore the professionals and I am sure Rob Price has made it perfectly clear to him, at his age, he would be at risk if he mixed too much with the public.’

Against which team did Leeds record their biggest home win?

The former Argentina boss is 64-years-old and despite his high-profile position, it’s been reported that he lives a very modest lifestyle which includes regular visits to a local Costa coffee shop (via the Sun). However, like everybody else, he will be spending a lot more time at home after the Prime Minister announced strict measures in order to enforce social distancing.

TIF Tactics – Leeds will have to wait a little bit longer

The Championship club currently leads West Bromwich Albion in the race for the title and hold a seven-point lead over Fulham in third place. The Football Association announced that the season would be ‘extended indefinitely’ but given the escalation of the outbreak, there has been no clear indication regarding when the competition will resume.

Leeds United haven’t played in the top-flight since their relegation at the end of the 2003/04 season and it appears they will be forced to wait longer than they had initially hoped. However, there are still nine fixtures remaining and therefore it is not mathematically impossible for the Whites to finish in the play-off positions so there is plenty of work still to be done.
