A lot of Leeds United fans have flocked to a tweet from Graham Smyth mocking Michael Owen.

The former Liverpool striker suggested that the Premier League could be back by the end of April – after it was confirmed by the FA that all football in England would be suspended until at least the 30th of April.

At what date do the EFL intend to resume matches after temporarily suspending games due to the viral outbreak?

Smyth seems to think that Owen is way off with his prediction as he tweeted: “So thankful for comedians and their commitment to making us laugh during a dark time.”

This suggests to us that Owen’s view does not convince him.

Certainly, these Leeds fans also feel that the former Newcastle United player is way off as well.

What do we think?

To think that any football would have restarted by the end of April, to us, is pretty far-fetched considering that it is thought this viral outbreak is not expected to peak until late May.

It appears as if Owen is simply trying to be optimistic, but maybe he just has to accept that we might not see football in England for some time.
