Some Celtic fans have been talking about the latest update involving the club’s potential kit deal with Adidas from next season.

The Scottish Sun have reported recently that Celtic are ‘on the verge’ of striking a deal with Adidas, with their current £25million contract with New Balance expiring in the summer. A deal with Adidas will start from the beginning of next season and it will be the biggest deal of its kind in Scottish football history.

Would the new kit deal help Celtic keep Edouard?

No chance of that

No chance of that

I'm sure there's a chance

The Scottish Sun also say that talks are currently continuing and it will be the first time the club will have kits manufactured by Adidas.

A Hoops-related page called EverythingCeltic relayed this news and it left many Celtic fans talking.

The new deal will be worth more than what the current New Balance deal gives the club. Adidas already have Real Madrid, Manchester United, Bayern Munich and Juventus as clubs that don their jerseys. The Scottish Sun claim that this will be a huge ‘financial boost’ for the Parkhead-based outfit.

New Balance had become the Hoops’ kit sponsor in 2015 when they had replaced Nike in that regard.

What do we think?

This certainly is big news for the club. With whatever extra money they get from a potential deal with Adidas, they will have a chance of keeping their best players in the side. They might get some extra money to keep Odsonne Edouard by offering him higher wages.
