Liverpool fans on Twitter have taken aim at referee Chris Kavanagh for his performance in the Reds’ FA Cup defeat to Chelsea.
This comes after Liverpool fan account @AnfieldWatch shared a post on their official Twitter page, which included an image of Kavanagh with the caption asking their followers to describe the referee in one word.
This post very quickly gathered a lot of replies from Liverpool fans, who obliged in sending in their thoughts on the referee.
Did the referee have a good game at Stamford Bridge?

Jurgen Klopp’s side fell to a third defeat from their last four matches in all competitions thanks to goals from Willian and Ross Barkley (per BBC Sport). After the match, a hot topic of conversation for the disgruntled Liverpool fans was the performance of Kavanagh, who was soon the victim of a lot of abuse on Twitter.

What do we think?
It seems harsh that these Liverpool fans have decided to aim their frustrations and abuse at Kavanagh for just doing his job instead of questioning their own players for their performances in the defeat. WhoScored gave the Liverpool side an overall team rating of 6.24 compared to Chelsea’s 7.19, which just goes to show how disappointing they were on the night.
