Rangers have progressed to the Round of 16 in the UEFA Europa League where they will face Bayer Leverkusen. This is the first time the Gers have reached this stage of the competition since 2011.
This also makes it the first time the side have reached this stage since their demotion to Scotland’s third tier in 2012.
However, their rivals Celtic weren’t as lucky. The Hoops fell at the hands of FC Copenhagen.
This inspired a tweet from Chris Sutton, who admitted his regret with the result. He explained that he thought Celtic would have beaten Arsenal in the next round of the competition. Arsenal were also knocked out of the competition, losing out to Olympiacos.
Rangers fans couldn’t help but take a dig at Sutton after his tweet. They suggest that he organise a friendly between the two teams.

Imaginary Celtic

What do we think?
Sutton seemed to be asking for abuse after tweeting such a ridiculous tweet.
It seemed like bait, to be honest. Either way, it’s bait that Rangers fans were happy to take.
In fact, after scrolling through the replies, there are quite a few Celtic fans who seem visibly embarrassed at Sutton’s comments as well.
