This past weekend, Rangers dropped another two points in the league after travelling to St. Johnstone. The Saints did well to score early on, however, Rangers did manage to pull back two goals in the second half. But, they failed to kill off the game before Tommy Wright’s side equalised in the 80th-minute.
After the match, Steven Gerrard spoke to Rangers TV. He criticised his team’s defensive performance, claiming that they weren’t good enough. During the interview, he said that he wasn’t even surprised with the defensive mistakes, as defensive errors have been a commonplace thing over the last few games.
When the footage of this interview was released on Twitter, fans expressed their frustrations. They believe that Gerrard must be willing to take the blame. He is the one picking the team and therefore must take accountability for his decisions.

No need for an interview after every game just put one on a loop

Why try and defend a 1 goal lead, go and kill them off. That’s why we don’t win but I am sure you will learn from it

Nowhere near good enough. Another season where we simply threw the league at Celtic without so much as a whimper.

Do you think Gerrard is the right man for the job?
Yes
No
Others think the manager’s ability to lead the team forward must be called into question. They aren’t sure he is good enough to lead the team forward.
If we don’t make last 8 of uel or win the cup then his position has to be under scrutiny

When we going to hear him being sacked? It’s because he’s Steven Gerrard that too much of our fan base don’t criticize him enough. He’s a terrible manager. Every team in the league as figured him out and realised he only knows how to play one way, forcing us to play back

What do we think?
If Gerrard is capable of leading Rangers to a Scottish Cup win, or an exciting run deep into the Europa League, perhaps fans may change their tune? However, with the side currently being 12 points behind Celtic in the league, they are seriously losing patience.
