Last night the Rangers Youth Academy lost a friendly match against Partick Thistle. The match ended 2-1 to the guests after Daria Zanatta scored a brace for Thistle. Nathan Young-Coombes scored the lone goal for the Gers.
It was a frustrating day out for the reserves. They couldn’t manage to secure a win, despite six members of the starting eleven having played for the first team this season.
Jordan Jones has played 13 times for Steven Gerrard this season while Brandon Barker has featured 11 times.
Jon Flanagan has played nine times for the manager with Matt Polster playing on seven occasions.
Meanwhile, Jake Hastie has two appearances for the senior squad and Nathan Patterson has just one appearance.
When the club tweeted out the final score, many fans were left frustrated with the result. However, some weren’t surprised that they lost with first-team players in the side.

Is there a deep rooted problem with the first-team players?
Yes
No
What do we think?
The fans are clearly frustrated with the first-team players. However, it is perhaps harsh to criticise these players considering they have had limited first-team minutes this season, meaning they are likely off their regular stride. Hopefully, for them, they can get back to their best soon enough.
