A lot of Leeds United fans have praised Mateusz Klich after Phil Hay released a piece about his upbringing and what makes him tick.
The Athletic reporter went to Krakow to interview his friends and family, and this led to a lot of Whites fans responding with praise for the Polish international.
Is Klich Leeds' most improved player?
Yes, Bielsa has changed him into a new man
No, others have improved more
Klich has been an ever-present in the Championship since the start of last season. That is an incredible 78 matches without one game off.
The 29-year-old arrived at Elland Road in the 2017-18 season and only made ten appearances, but Klich scored the first goal of Bielsa’s reign in a 3-1 win over Stoke City, and he has not looked back.
Since then, the midfielder has scored 14 goals and provided 10 assists, and this piece has attracted more praise for Klich.
“People come in and ask ‘where are the machines?’ I tell them – we are the machines.”
I spent two days in Krakow tracing Mateusz Klich’s earliest steps, finding out what makes him tick and meeting the family and friends behind Leeds United’s number 43:https://t.co/dQ4HRls9Ie

If there was one player that proved himself, it’s Klich

Beautiful Phil. Thank you so much for this feature on one of my favourite players in Leeds. A class act who thoroughly deserves all these praises sung about him.

Great read phil, do you feel like klich may need a rest though? I mean he’s started every league game under bielsa and the way we play must be very hard to keep your body going as long as he has

What do we think?
Klich, who is valued at £2.25m by Transfermarkt, has to be counted as one of the great success stories of Bielsa’s time in charge – as he has gone from a bit-part player to essential.
This season he has averaged a rating of 6.88 and only scored four goals and provided one assist as well as missing a penalty against Derby County, yet he still has the faith of Bielsa and a lot of Leeds fans.
They will hope that Klich can rediscover his best form and lead the Whites to promotion.
