A lot of Leeds United fans have responded to an article from Phil Hay about Pablo Hernandez.
The Athletic reporter has produced a piece about how the Spaniard’s second season under Marcelo Bielsa has been less productive than his first.
What have you made of Hernandez this season?
Still playing well enough
Not doing enough
However, a tactical shift from the Argentine has meant that the Whites still win 60% of their games when Hernandez plays.
This article has received a mixed reaction from these Leeds fans – with some in agreement with Hay that Hernandez’s performances have declined this season.
Season two under Marcelo Bielsa has been less productive for Pablo Hernandez than season one: down on goals, assists and certain other key stats.
But there’s been a tactical shift with him and Leeds United still win 60% of games with Pablo in their side:https://t.co/0bYGgJxWeX

I think his form slipped towards end of last season and hasn’t been the same. Still top player but needs more rests. Hope shak or someone can step up.

Although a fantastic player and talisman for the team, we need to appreciate he’s probably in the twilight of his career. It would be difficult to expect him to be as good year on year. We need to make use his brain and experience more than his pace

Interesting article. Very subtle shift in tactics.

Lost his influence I’m afraid but he is allowed to have poor games because his reputation precedes him. Seemed to have mentally lost it towards end of last season after penalty miss v Wigan. However our most creative player so guess why in team. Prefer him out wide cutting in

However, other Whites supporters believe that it is hard to judge how good the former Swansea City man has been because of the number of chances that Leeds miss.
Got to be careful looking at assists in this team. He might’ve put it on a plate for bambo many a time and seen he smash it over

Very misleading, Leeds miss far too many chances for this to be relevant.

Totally agree with this one, I’d imagine Harrison, Costa, Klich and Pablo would have a greater assist record if we were more clinical as a team. If only this team had Wood in the side we would be at least double figure points clear I’m sure.

Isn’t that the same for most/all attacking players though? Klich etc

What do we think?
Last season the 34-year-old, who is valued at £1.8m by Transfermarkt, scored 12 goals and provided 12 assists in 41 appearances.
So far this season he has made 25 appearances scored five goals and provided four assists.
These are not bad for a player who will be 35 in April, and though he might not have directly contributed to as many goals this season, he has still made an important contribution to the Whites’ automatic promotion challenge.
