Some Celtic fans were not happy with the performance of Jonny Hayes during the club’s 1-1 draw against Copenhagen in the UEFA Europa League.
Hayes started for the Hoops against the Danish side with the former Aberdeen player featuring at left-back.

While Celtic did get a vital away goal ahead of the second leg, some Celtic fans expressed their anger at Hayes’ performance. They took to Twitter and gave Hayes a lot of slack.

Celtic signed Hayes from Aberdeen in the summer of 2017. His current deal at Parkhead runs out in May.
This season, the veteran has made 25 appearances in all competitions for Hoops. He has a tally of one goal and two assists, with that one goal coming against Rangers in the Premiership early in the season.

As per Whoscored, Hayes got a match rating of 7/10. He won two tackles and made as many as five interceptions for the club. He also won two aerial duels in the game. The stats suggest that the performance was not as bad from Hayes as these fans make out so perhaps the criticism is something he doesn’t deserve.
