Rangers faced Ross County this week in the Scottish Premiership, just a few days after losing to Hearts on Sunday. The 2-0 victory came courtesy of goals from Jermain Defoe and Scott Arfield, providing Steven Gerrard’s side with a boost in confidence after slipping up on the weekend.
But while the performance was warranting of three points, Rangers fans were still not convinced with everyone on the field. Ryan Kent just wasn’t cutting it for them, having received a 6/10 rating from Rangers News. The winger made the move from Liverpool in the summer for £6.48 million. The signing was the fifth biggest in Scottish Premiership history, meaning there was a high expectation for the player to perform.
Do you think Kent's positioning is changing how he can play?
Yes
No
But some fans don’t think he has been living up to the expectation. They want a lot more from him. Many fans blame Gerrard’s utilisation of the player. They think he is playing much too narrow.
Ryan Kent has to do more. No were near consistent enough. Same goes for Aribo. More needed.

Kent is playing way out of position, it is nuts, if Tav is injured he should be hogging a touch line and creating as a winger, not turning fresh air inside out so far from goal it’s embarrassing. He is picking up the ball where Aribo should be playing in midfield.

Can mind him being outstanding against midgetland and the hibs 6-1 game.
That red card against the puddle drinkers was so daft. Kent’s been largely anonymous the last few games, would have been nice if we could have dropped him for an in form Jones.

He’s worth 4m.. Said it ages ago we’ve been bumped lol

He looked a lot better as a wide man running at full backs

One fan does admit that Kent has popped up in big games when it has mattered most, though. His goal against Celtic being proof. The fan just thinks Kent struggles against a team setting up extra defensively.
Big game player. Scored at Parkhead, scored the weekend, not often the best against 10 man defences, bit harsh to expect a 9/10 performance every game.

What do we think?
Kent, who is valued at £4.05 million (as per Transfermarkt), is not having the worst season of his life, however. He has scored six and assisted three goals in his 21 performances. Of course, with his price tag, the fans will be expecting higher numbers in both categories.
