Aston Villa fans have taken to Twitter to make fun of Leicester City’s James Maddison latest post.
This comes after the Englishman shared a post on his official Twitter page congratulating Villa on their 2-1 win over his side in the second leg semi-final clash in the Carabao Cup.
However, Maddison also mentioned how referee Mike Dean’s decision not to give a penalty for a potential handball from Villa’s Marvelous Nakamba “baffles” him.
Should Leicester have been given a penalty for the handball?
Yes
No
This post from the midfielder then gathered a lot of replies from Villa fans who were quick to share their opinions on the situation.
Here’s a sample of Villa fans responding to Maddison’s post:
“Not making any excuses but” then proceeds to make an excuse ?

James, the first half of your tweet does not negate the second half. The lad Nakamba is arms up to protect his face, not extended, not trying to cheat. You’ll win stuff in your career, not this particular trophy, this year, but have a bit of class lad.

The incident Maddison is referring to in his tweet came in the second half of the match when the Englishman’s shot appeared to have struck the arm of Nakamba. Referee Mike Dean chose not to award Brendan Rodgers’ side a penalty for the incident, much to the annoyance of Maddison.
Sounds like an excuse to me

What do we think?
To claim to not be making any excuses and then make an excuse as to why his team didn’t win at Villa, sort of makes Maddison’s tweet comes across as a bit silly. But the midfielder has every right to be upset over the result and can tweet whatever he wants on his page, but this post has just made him look quite salty.
