In Thursday morning’s press conference, Steven Gerrard confirmed that James Tavernier was set to miss a few weeks of action due to an appendix issue. The Gers captain luckily avoided a burst appendix but has still suffered a serious enough illness to keep him out for a few matches. This news could be a huge blow to Gerrard as his side looks to serge forward and seize its 55th league title.
When fans were made aware of the news they were gutted. They really hope Tavernier makes a full recovery soon. His absence has made them nervous for the next few games.
I’m in discomfort now tbh

Other fans claim they think it would be an ideal time for Nathan Patterson to be given a chance to start at right-back. One fears the spot will be given to Jon Flanagan though.
Announce Patterson as right back take your chance wee man

Would love to see Patterson get the shout but it will Flanagan

Who do you think will be given the spot in Tavernier's absence?
Patterson
Flanagan
What do we think?
Hopefully for Tavernier, and the fans, the captain can make a full recovery soon enough. If he is taken out of the side for even a few weeks, though, it could have a serious impact on his ability to come back match ready.
