Some Celtic fans have made their fears clear about Premier League giants Chelsea potentially making an offer to sign young Karamoko Dembele soon.

The Hoops’ Reserves side recently played a friendly against the Chelsea Under-23s outfit. The game took place on Wednesday and it saw Dembele make a start, with defender Jack Hendry also featuring at centre-back. The game saw young midfielder Scott Robertson come up with a winner.

But once the Hoops’ social media handle posted the line-ups of the game, it alarmed many Celtic fans. Their main concern was Dembele and that the Blues shouldn’t get a look at the Blues-linked youngster.

The 90min report that linked Dembele with Chelsea said that the Blues will look to move for the youngster once their transfer ban is lifted. It went onto claim that the Stamford Bridge-based side is prepared to test the Hoops’ resolve by making an offer as soon as possible. Their transfer ban has already been lifted, allowing them to make signings this month.

As for Dembele, the youngster recently made his European debut in the Europa League. It made him the youngest ever Hoops player to play in a European game.

That game against Cluj saw the Hoops lose 2-0 and that is the only appearance Dembele has made in the senior side so far this season. Last season, Dembele had made just a single appearance and it came in the second half of the campaign in the Premiership clash against Hearts to play the last 45 minutes.

What do we think?

Celtic can’t afford to lose Dembele at any point. He is already a player who is in high demand and it shows how much value he possesses for any club that he plays for in the future. Celtic have to make sure that they keep him and keep Chelsea away.
