With Rangers currently on an extended break at the moment, the club’s management are beginning to plan for the second half of the season. The January transfer window is a brilliant opportunity for the club to bolster their squad strength to improve their chances of winning Rangers’ 55th league title at the end of the season. But it appears as though the club also plan on taking this opportunity to rake in some money as well.
This week, Rangers fan account True Blues Loyal suggested that Rangers have slapped an £8million price tag on midfielder Glen Kamara, which came from the Daily Mail. The midfielder only joined the club from Dundee last January for £50,000 (transfermarkt.co.uk). If this news is correct, Rangers will make a considerable profit on the player. But some Rangers fans are suggesting that an £8million valuation is much too low.
Possibly18million less imo , based on player transfer valuations of players with similar ability, going to the prem, A quick profit doesn’t always balance out at the end of the season, personally I hope we keep the squad up to the summer window, at least to enjoy #55

Wouldn’t sell him for that. This boy is excellent and Davis is 35 so going to need him. Silly money for him before we consider it. Guys class

£8m would rent him for a few months if they want to buy him nearer £15/20m. Based on Twinkle Toes Tierney. Mr Indestrucatable

He has to stay bottom line. If we sell it has to be very silly money as the guy is class and will be a big part of bringing the title back to Ibrox IMHO

Do you think Rangers have undervalued Glen Kamara?
Yes
No
Others are worried that if the club continues to undervalue their players it will only make it easier for teams to swoop in and take them. Another encourages the club to wait until after the Euros to sell the player. His value will only get bigger then.
If we keep undervaluing our players then teams like this will continue to come to Scotland rubbing there hands picking the best a players laughing as the player signs there new contact. Easy worth more…

You wait till after the Euros his price will go up and we need him for 55. I will be sad to see him go but every player has a price

What do we think?
If Kamara does end up leaving Rangers this window for the proposed £8million, it would be a big loss to Rangers who have enjoyed his presence in the midfield. He has already played 29 games this season under Steven Gerrard (transfermarkt.co.uk). But his departure would also bring in a sizeable profit for them to reinvest back into the team.
