For a while, it seemed as if Sunderland’s season was destined for failure. The club only managed to win two games during their 11 matches in November and December. But now they have gone undefeated in their last five games and are starting to pick up a bit of momentum in the league (WhoScored.com).
One of the players who has been credited with having a huge impact on the team’s resurgence is Chris Maguire. The midfielder has scored two goals and registered three assists in his last three games (Sunderland). The statistics are impressive, and these fans agree that Maguire has the ability to turn Sunderland’s season around. If he is playing his best, the team can achieve promotion.

What do we think?
Maguire is clearly beginning to have a positive impact on the squad. If Phil Parkinson can bring in a few solid players during the January window, he could just manage to achieve the promotion that fans have been so desperate for.
