Some Celtic fans have made it clear that they want to see Dundee United striker Lawrence Shankland at Parkhead as soon as possible.
Reports last week had claimed that the Hoops have been scouting the striker in recent days, as Tosh McKinlay was in the scouts to watch him. Two weeks ago, Celtic head of recruitment Nick Hammond had watched Shankland too.
Is Shankland better than Edouard?
His numbers prove that!
Never, don't joke
Recently, many Hoops fans were talking about the club’s potential interest in the striker. Many of the Bhoys’ faithful made it clear that they want to see the 24-year-old at Parkhead soon.
Been saying it for weeks, money wise it’s a no brainer, #Shankland only gonna get better, #Boyle is a cracking player and wouldn’t break th bank getting both in #HH

Boyle yes coz Jamesy needs competition, Shankland is a tough one, he clearly has talent but he would only be 3rd or 4th choice striker

Shankland, who is valued at £405k (as per Transfermarkt), has been in impressive form for Dundee in the Scottish Championship this season. He has made 25 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring just as many times and racking up three assists too. In the Championship, the 24-year-old has scored 22 times in 19 games.
Last season was an impressive one of him too. He made 41 appearances in all competitions for Dundee, scoring 34 times and racking up eight assists as well. In the Championship, he played 31 games and scored as many as 24 goals.
What do we think?
Shankland’s numbers are very impressive and are very tough to find. But the Hoops already have three options in the striker position – Odsonne Edouard, Leigh Griffiths and January signing Patryk Klimala. They can only bring Shankland in if they lose their first-choice forward in Edouard, who has scored 19 times in all competitions himself this season.
