Derby County suffered their 10th league defeat of the Championship season at Kenilworth Road, courtesy of Luton Town.

Wayne Rooney scored his first goal for the Rams but their defensive troubles saw them concede three and as a result the leagues bottom side picked up some vital points.

Despite the disappointing outcome of Tuesday night’s game one player at least emerged with some credit from the supporters, with many taking to Twitter to share their praise for Duane Holmes after he posted on the social networking site.

Duane Holmes, who is valued at £1.8 million (as per Transfermarkt), is one of the few Derby County players to emerge from that game without having to face the wrath of the fans. The 25-year-old has made 24 appearances in the Championship this season, starting in 72% of the Rams total league fixtures.

Signed from Scunthorpe United in August 2018, the United States international appears to be quickly becoming a fan favourite at Pride Park.
