Some Celtic fans have expressed their displeasure at one of the club’s tweets that carried a message from the manager Neil Lennon about how the side is training in Dubai.

With the mid-season break currently on, the Hoops are undergoing training in Dubai. Manager Neil Lennon recently gave an interview to Celtic TV (via Twitter) about how the side is progressing and he revealed that the team is doing ‘very intense’ sessions. He talked about getting ‘more technical and physical work done’ during the sessions.

Celtic fans: Do you want more aggression in how the side plays?

Absolutely, its drab sometimes

But some Hoops fans aren’t happy with his comments. When the club’s official account posted a video of the interview, they expressed their anger about it, with one fan, in particular, appearing to criticise the manager’s tactics – perhaps, because he likes to adopt a regular 4-2-3-1 system (as per TransferMarkt).

The Hoops recently lost the Old Firm derby to fierce rivals Rangers in the Premiership. A Ryan Christie missed penalty saw Ryan Kent score for the Gers. While Odsonne Edouard did equalise, Nikola Katic won the game for Rangers in the second half. Steven Gerrard’s men are now only two points behind the Hoops with a game in hand.

While Celtic could well slip to second if Rangers win their game in hand, all else is well. They’ve already made it to the next round of the Europa League. They finished top of their group for the first time in history but will face Copenhagen in the Round of 32 of the competition.

The club has already won the Scottish League Cup this season. They beat the Gers themselves in early December, thanks to a second-half Christopher Jullien goal. It was their 19th League Cup title in history.

What do we think?

Celtic fans don’t need to panic at this stage. They are still at the top and they still have half the season yet to be played. The Scottish Cup is yet to start and they can certainly win that this season too. But they have to get their January signings right to win the Premiership. If Lennon doesn’t get them right, the unhappiness will only increase.
