This week Steven Gerrard spoke out against the abuse thrown at Alfredo Morelos in recent weeks. After the Old Firm, Morelos made a gesture to the crowd, signalling that it was game over.
Rival fans have been critical of the gesture, with Chris Sutton calling for the player to receive a five-game ban. This week Gerrard has stated that the abuse directed at Morelos is deep-rooted in their fear of him bringing Rangers back to success.
When a reporter posted a link to the tweet with this article, Rangers fans responded. They completely agree with everything Gerrard is saying. They think he is ‘spot on’ and agree that the narrative driven by Celtic fans and the Scottish media is clear and obvious.

100%.We have seem very clearly the bile and hatred directed towards Rangers over the last few years when we were struggling through the lower leagues and another club winning everything. This was only going to get much more pronounced if stability & success returned to the club.

What do we think?
Hopefully, for Rangers fans, this saga does not affect Morelos’ ability to score goals. Should he continue scoring at the rate he is, he could be the difference between the club winning the league or not.
