Some Celtic fans have expressed their honest opinion about the potential January signing of Le Havre striker Tino Kadewere in the ongoing winter transfer window.
Reports on Monday have said that the Hoops are interested in signing the Zimbabwean striker, who is also being chased by south coast outfits Southampton and Bournemouth this month. The 23-year-old is valued at £10million by his club and is keen to test himself in the Premier League.
Kadewere is reportedly represented by UK-based agency Mercato Sports and that could make a move to the country easier.
Celtic fans: Do you want Kadewere at the club?
We've got Eddie!
Get Kadewere
On hearing this, some Hoops fans have been left to discuss their club’s potential move for the striker.
Latest name in the papers is Le Havre striker Tino Kadewere. Good player but I’d be surprised if we are spending €10m on a player this window HH pic.twitter.com/oGv2BvYq4q

A Ligue2 side demanding 10 million
Worlds gone mad.
Could buy their 1st team squad, their, ground, manager and coaching team, and still have spare change off 10 mil— Gazzarinho (@gazzarinho1) January 6, 2020
Edouard will be sold in summer for £30m. Now is time to bring in quality behind him

£10m in any window will not happen. Lawell would rather lose 9 in a row than spend that kind of money…..that’s the Celtic way!

So far this season, Odsonne Edouard has been the Hoops’ first-choice striker, with Leigh Griffiths and Lewis Morgan also potential options upfront. However, Edouard has been in good form, having found the back of the net 16 times, while racking up 15 assists as well.
As for Kadewere, he too has been in impressive form for the club this season in Ligue 2. This season, he has played 19 games in all competitions while racking up a tally of 17 goals. He also has four assists to his name.
This campaign has been an improvement from last season as he found the back of the net only six times in all competitions. But he also got five assists in 26 games for the club. He isn’t just a striker, Kadewere is well capable of playing across the front three and as a number ten.
What do we think?
The striker’s numbers this season are very impressive. And it shows that he could well be able to cut it in the Premiership. But a fee as big as Le Havre want will be a record fee for the club. It can’t be shelled out unless he is the first-choice striker. They can’t afford to sign a player with that much value to use him as a back-up option.
