This week, Birmingham City announced that Under-23s striker Miguel Fernandez was signing a contract extension keeping him at the club until June 2020 (Birmingham City).
The 19-year-old Spaniard’s contract ended earlier in the week, and the Blues managed to renegotiate another short-term deal keeping him at the club for a little bit longer (Birmingham City).
When fans heard the news of the deal they demanded that the club give him a chance to play with the first team. If the club does not, the fans fear the player will walk away at the end of the summer. They think he will be successful wherever he goes, with one fan saying he could be a league top scorer.
Pointless really isnt it , the club will not give him a game in case his stock goes up in june and we lose him . So what's the point unless both sides commit to a longer contract ? Hes either good enough or hes not either way make a proper decision

Is Miguel Fernandez ready for first-team football?
Yes
No
Other fans are concerned with the short length of the contract. They would like to have seen the club try to keep him around for a bit longer.
Others instead would rather see the club announce new owners. They do not have faith that the current owners are capable of running a football club.
Why such a short term deal ?

New owners capable of running a football club would be appreciated.

What do we think?
If the player returns, hopefully he has a chance to play with the first team. It would be a shame for the club to bring him back for a few months just to sit on the bench.
However, the contract could indicate that, in the second half of the season, Pep Clotet has bigger plans for Fernandez.
