After a few months of bad performances, Sunderland fans’ woes were made worse after Aiden McGeady and Chris Maguire were spotted eating in McDonald’s after a game. It was a sign that the players were unwilling to take care of their body and commit themselves to the team.
Apparently these players’ teammates didn’t appreciate this either after rumours surfaced that the team surrounded their lockers with McDonald’s boxes. This allegedly resulted in a huge dressing room bust-up where McGeady was told to go home and sit out of training (Roker Report). Fans weren’t even that surprised by the confrontation.
No room for over inflated egos and bullies. If true, and I can well believe it, he goes. Now is the time for the squad to pull together not turn on each other

I always thought McGeady wasn’t a team player and always tried to be too clever and show off, and lost the ball a lot of the time. Just my opinion If it’s true

Unfortunately, doesn’t surprise me

Not like mcgeady hasn’t got form for this…. Look at his demeanour and behaviour under Coleman…cant say parkinson is someone who strikes me as a players manager

Would you be happy to see McGeady leave Sunderland in January?
Yes
No
Rumours soon surfaced that McGeady is set to leave in January. Unsurprisingly, fans weren’t too concerned.
One of those “don’t let the door hit you on the way out” situations. The bloke is obviously detrimental to team spirit and we play better as a side without him in it. Yes, he’s talented and will probably do good things somewhere else… but we don’t need him.

Shame this. Best player from last season, respected him for taking a pay-cut to stay with us but this kind of behaviour should not be tolirated. Club doesn’t need further negativity. Need players that want to be here.

What do we think?
After hearing these rumours, it’s no surprise why Sunderland are struggling on the field. It appears as if there is no team unity and that the players don’t respect or appreciate each other. Perhaps once these players leave the team can start to find their winning form again.
