This weekend, Rangers took on Motherwell after a small run of three winless games. It was a great opportunity for Rangers to regain their winning momentum. But with Motherwell sitting fourth in the table, the win wasn’t going to be inherently easy.

However, a Nikola Katic header in the first half an hour put the Gers up by a goal, providing Steven Gerrard’s men with a winning platform to build off of. Fans were pleased to see Katic score. He hadn’t started a game for Rangers since October 20th when the side dropped points two to Hearts (transfermarkt.co.uk). They have been crying out for him to start for a while now, claiming that ‘that is what happens’ when Katic plays.

Do you think Gerrard will keep Katic in the starting 11 against Hibernian?

No

No

One fan pleads with the manager to keep Katic in the side, while another questions why he isn’t featured more regularly as it is.

What do we think?

Should the Croatian, who is valued at £1.8 million (as per Transfermarkt), continue to play for his club, it will be for his defensive contributions, not for his ability to score. But, with that being said, a match-winning goal will surely make Steven Gerrard question who his go-to centre-back pairing will be going forward.
