After dropping points in the league against Aberdeen, Rangers fans will want to see their team respond in expert fashion against their rivals in the Scottish League Cup Final on Sunday. The two teams have been going pretty much neck and neck for the majority of the season (Sky Sports). However, when captain James Tavernier spoke in a pre-match press conference, supporters’ heads dropped.
“Wednesday was disappointing, that game is done now and we have to defend for our lives and give everything on Sunday,” said Tavernier (Rangers).
While the words were meant to encourage fans, it made them begin to worry about how Steven Gerrard might approach this game. They don’t want to see the team sit back and defend. Instead, they want the team attack Celtic from the first whistle.
Hope that’s not a slip up and we are planning to soak up pressure and counter on Sunday.. At it from first kick attack attack attack #LETSGO

Attack with your lives too please

How about coming out with we need to be aggressive and get in there faces instead of saying we’ll be sitting back?

Attack too

I’d prefer it if you attacked with your lives & scored a few goals, but each to their own.

Do you think Rangers should go all out attack in the Scottish League Cup Final?
Yes
No
One fan encourages the players to be brave. If they play their natural game he thinks the Gers will have a much better chance.
No need to defend with your lives if you play your natural game and put them on the back foot. I kinda know what he is trying to say, but it looks like they are expecting to be under the cosh for most of the game on Sunday. Remember we fear no foe.

What do we think?
After a poor defensive display against Aberdeen, it is likely that Tavernier was only suggesting that the backline must improve on the weekend. There is still every chance that Gerrard and his side come out guns blazing. If they do, it will make for an extremely entertaining match.
