It was another convincing win on the weekend for Steven Gerrard as his side beat Hearts 5-0 in the Scottish Premiership. The result keeps the Gers level on points with their rivals at the top of the league (BBC).
And while every fan will be talking about Alfredo Morelos’ three-headed goals in a row, they won’t have forgotten the contribution of a certain Borna Barisic. Morelos has only been able to score so many headers because of the pinpoint crosses delivered from the Croatian left-back.
Barisic is different gravy btw !!! Morelos doing what Morelos does !! https://t.co/HNZJb9Cf0R

What a performance to start a massive week for us. Thought Barisic was different class today. Onto Wednesday now #WATP

Apart from a couple of misplaced passes, Barisic was immense today. Some engine he’s developing and sound defending to go with that unbelievable crossing ability.

One fan suggested that Barisic was just as valuable to Rangers as Morelos. Without him, the Colombian wouldn’t score as many goals as he does. Another shared a statistic showing just how many assists he has this season and how many of them were for Morelos.
Barisic cross. Morelos header. Repeat.

10 assists in 20 games for Borna Barisic this season.

Is Borna Barisic just as important to Rangers as Morelos?
Yes
No
Others are impressed by the player’s incredible turnaround since the beginning of the season.
Even tho Barisic has been getting a lot of praise recently I don’t think it tells half the story. On the pitch he’s been outstanding but I’m more impressed with his mentality. He looked to be nowhere near good enough and on his way out. The turnaround has been incredible

Gerrard has transformed him into the player we knew he could be

What do we think?
With 10 assists in 20 games this season, it is no wonder why Rangers fans rate him so much. He has become a vital member of the Rangers first-team and one of the first names on Gerrard’s team sheet. Should Barisic be able to keep this form up, the Light Blues should be in contention to get their name on a piece of silverware by the time the season comes to an end.
