These QPR fans are missing former goalkeeper Alex Smithies, who now plays for Championship rivals Cardiff City.
Smithies has played between the sticks 10 times in the Championship for Cardiff so far this season, managing to keep a clean sheet on three occasions. However, when playing for QPR he kept a total of 20 clean sheets across 109 outings, while also picking up a reputation for saving penalties.
Here’s what the Queens Park Rangers fans had to say about Alex Smithies:
Remember when Alex Smithies just used to save penalties for a living? #GKUnion pic.twitter.com/0la4Le4qNR

The only problem is qpr got in habit of giving penalties away cause he would always save them now we still give penalties away but haven’t got a keeper that gets anywhere near them

Would you like to see Alex Smithies return to QPR?
Yes
No
At 29-years-old and still playing in the Championship, it’s impressive that Smithies still has an estimated Transfermarkt value of £3.15m.
Honestly the best keeper We’ve had for years https://t.co/lb28C2mcIl

What Do We Think?
It would be nice to see Alex Smithies return, as he was always a decent keeper for QPR. However, Mark Warburton has other areas that need more urgent attention; like the defence for example, as letting in 42 goals in 22 games really isn’t going to do the promotion hopes any favours.
