Some Southampton fans are delighted about the news that manager Ralph Hasenhuttl is set to stay at the club, despite the side struggling in the dreaded red zone currently.
A report from the Daily Mail recently has said that the Austrian is currently safe in his position as the Saints boss. The club’s trust in Hasenhuttl was underlined when former owner and current board member Katharina Liebherr ended her speech with Hasenhuttl’s terrace chant.
The report also claims that this show of faith comes despite many players having doubts about whether Hasenhuttl can arrest the slide or not.
Southampton fans: Does Hasenhuttl deserve to stay?
He's not the problem!
He's got to leave
Some Southampton fans are delighted with the news and feel that the Austrian isn’t at fault for the situation at the club.
Good. Hes not the main issue.

It maybe that the players are just not good enough.? Physically, mentally and technically and no matter how hard (or not) they try they never will be!

Good. We can’t keep sacking managers but keep the same group of substandard players.

That’s good news. So obviously they will be supporting him, financially to the ‘tune’ of £50mil in the January transfer window. #Obviously #SaintsFC

she is the very reason we are in this mess since she came in she has done is sell to survive with no investment while she looked to sell the club for a huge profit will pretending to care about her fathers legacy by keeping 20%

Hasenhuttl had joined the club from German giants RB Leipzig in the middle of last season and took over from former Stoke City manager Mark Hughes. He helped the club survive relegation at end of the season, seeing them finish 16th in the table. They finished five points clear of the drop.
Hasenhuttl was at Leipzig for two seasons and had joined at the beginning of the 2016-17 season, leaving the club at the end of the 2017-18 campaign. Before that, he had been at German club Ingolstadt and VFR Aalen.
This season, the Saints find themselves at the 18th spot in the Premier League this season. They have conceded the most number of goals this season – 36. That is one more than Norwich’s tally of 35. They have scored just 18 goals this season and that is the fourth-lowest in the division.
What do we think?
The Saints are struggling. But with the right sort of investments in the upcoming January transfer window, things can still change. However, the lack of proper recruitment has let the club down and that’s very different to how things were under the previous managers.
Hasenhuttl’s needs the backing of the owners and should be allowed to make the right signings.
