Liverpool fans have been calling on Twitter for on loan Leeds United man Ben White to join the Merseyside club in the upcoming January transfer window.

This comes after Liverpool fan Twitter account @AnfieldRd96 shared a post on their Twitter page asking their followers what “realistic versatile defender” can the club sign next month.

This post then led to many Liverpool fans replying with their opinions, but some identified Leeds defender Ben White as potential January signing.

Interestingly, Liverpool have been rumoured to have a genuine interest in signing the defender, though it seems it would be quite difficult to sign him in January as Brighton and Hove Albion manager Graham Potter has stated that the defender will spend this season on loan at the Yorkshire club.

Should Liverpool sign Ben White in January?

Here’s a sample of Liverpool fans wanting White to join the club next month:

The Leeds defender, who is currently on loan from Premier League side Brighton, has been a standout performer in the Championship this season. White has played in every minute of Leeds’ 22 Championship games so far this season (per TransferMarkt), averaging 2.5 interceptions, 1.8 tackles and a whopping 3.6 clearances (WhoScored).

After the defender’s impressive start to the Championship season, some Liverpool fans have pointed out White as a potential January signing for Liverpool next month.

What do we think?

Given White’s impressive record for Leeds so far this season, it comes as no surprise that there are some Liverpool fans that want White to swap Elland Road for Anfield in January. Also, with Joel Matip and Dejan Lovren out injured for Jurgen Klopp’s side, White could help ease the defensive issues the club currently have. If Liverpool do manage to prise White away from parent-club Brighton, they would certainly have a future star on their hands.
