Spurs fans were delighted to hear that Jose Mourinho is targeting full-backs, centre-backs and a back-up to Harry Kane in the January and summer transfer windows.
According to Sky Sports journalist Lyall Thomas (via TranSPURS), right-back remains a priority for Mourinho, who is also considering moves for a left-back, centre-backs and a striker who can provide back-up to Harry Kane. The North London club have been linked with a plethora of players ahead of the January window, but it seems as if Mourinho may only have the funds to make one addition.
The Portuguese manager may well be forced to trim down his squad at Spurs if he wants to make more additions in January, with Danny Rose, Victor Wanyama and Christian Eriksen reportedly all being offered out ahead of next month’s transfer window. It is no surprise that Mourinho is looking to strengthen his defence, with Spurs having kept just two clean sheets in the Premier League all season.
Can Spurs challenge for the title next season?

Yep he’s right, a solid defence behind that amazing attack is premier league winning stuff,

Turning us into title contenders. I love it

I think a quality CDM should be priority number one. Back line is so often exposed with Wanyama and Dier not where they were

Imagine our attack with a solid Defense and CDM with fully fit and flying Tanguy. We could win the league with that

With a revamped defence and a solid CDM, I reckon we would be challenging for the Premier League next season

All important positions but should NOT be rushed with quick fixes if we have to wait till the summer to get the right player fine we need a leap in quality now

These Spurs fans are clearly in agreement with Mourinho and feel that if the right signings are made they could be a serious title threat next season.
What do we think?
If Spurs can improve their defence and bring in a quality defensive-midfielder then there is no reason why they shouldn’t challenge for the title next season, especially with the likes of Harry Kane, Heung-Min Son and Dele Alli in attack.
