A lot of Leeds United fans loved Jonathan Woodgate’s comments about the club after his side were thrashed 4-0 by the Whites.
Woodgate, who made 127 appearances for Leeds before he joined Newcastle United, said in his press conference that “They’re a top club and I hope they get to the Premier League.”
Is Woodgate a Leeds United legend?

These comments from Woodgate have gone down brilliantly with a lot of Leeds fans.

Great player and showed great respect for his club when we were asking for a wave. This conference just shows what Leeds means to him though …

A Leeds legend this guy… I thought we would never have anyone British play for our club who would come close to him as a centre back (including ferdinand) … Just maybe I’m wrong!!

What do we think?
The Middlesbrough manager got a well-deserved reception from the Elland Road faithful, and it is good to see that he recognised it in his press conference.
The former Real Madrid defender played in some of Leeds’ biggest games and was once considered to be one of the best defenders in England.
Woodgate would clearly love to see Leeds back in the Premier League, and even though his comments might have annoyed some Boro fans, he is right to want his old club to do well.
Many Whites fans still fondly remember Woodgate, and it is good to see that he still has a lot of affection for the club.
