Some Celtic fans have reacted to transfer target Andraz Sporar’s comparisons to their own striker Issouf Vakoun Bayo, as the January transfer window approaches.
The Hoops have drawn heavy links with a move for the Slovan Bratislava striker in recent weeks.
The fresh reports state that the Celtic officials have flown to Vienna to hold talks for the striker. The reports also state that Slovan chief Ivan Kmotrík Jr met the Hoops’ party and he has already admitted to Celtic pushing hard to sign Sporar.
Celtic fans: Could Sporar turn out like Bayo?
Too early to say!
He's Bayo V2
Some Celtic fans have compared Sporar to Bayo, thanks to their similar background of playing in similar leagues.
Slightly unfair mate, wouldn’t rule him out because they played at a similar level. The guy we are linked with has proved himself in Europe this season and has 44 goals in 50 games and is a Slovenian international.

Bayo only scored 14 league goals. This lad played for the Slovakian champions and scored 44. He also scored 46 for the Slovenian champions of 2016 and 2018. Defo has a better pedigree about him.

Bayo is a headers and volleys type striker. Would’ve been great in the days our wingers crossed the ball.

And can we tear up his contract

Sporar has been in impressive form so far this season for Slovan, having also played in the UEFA Europa League for the club.
He has played 26 times in all competitions for the club this season, scoring 20 times during this time. He has played six games in the group stages of the Europa League, scoring as many as five times for Slovan.
He was just as impressive for them last season. He found the back of the net 34 times in all competitions, assisting nine times while playing 36 games.
22-year-old Bayo had joined Celtic from Dunajska Streda in January of 2019 and has played 13 games in all competitions since then, scoring once and assisting once.
What do we think?
Their backgrounds might be the same, but making comparisons too early is baseless currently. Sporar has scored many goals and that is why he can well be called a ‘prolific’ scorer. Once Sporar joins and starts playing, it would be a better time to make a judgment.
