Some Southampton fans are ecstatic about Danny Ings and they’re making it clear that they want him to be the captain and don’t want him to be sold at any point.
The Saints have not lost a single game in their last three outings. They managed to beat Chelsea and Aston Villa and came back with a goal down to pick up a point against Crystal Palace as well. Ralph Hasenhuttl’s men are now up to 15th in the Premier League table. Indeed, Danny Ings has been crucial to their form.
Southampton fans: Can the club afford to sell Ings?
We'll get relegated without him
We can make do without him
And some Southampton fans are raving about the Englishman and they don’t want the club to ever sell him, having seen the club post a message on Twitter.
Make him captain

Please don’t sell when other clubs come knocking. Do that , and it’ll be the final straw for me.

Ings has been one of the best goalscorers in the Premier League so far this season. The Englishman has made 22 appearances in all competitions so far, racking up a tally of 14 goals in all competitions. In the Premier League, he has a tally of 12 goals and 1 assist.
In total, the Saints have found the back of the net 24 times in the Premier League. And that is the sixth-lowest record so far in the campaign. Ings has scored 50% of those goals and that shows his influence.
Ings had joined the Saints permanently from Liverpool this past summer for a fee of £20million. The 2018-19 season was an initial loan spell for his at St. Mary’s. Last season, he had played 25 times in all competitions for the club. He racked up a tally of eight goals and also had a tally of three assists.
What do we think?
Ings has been immense for the Saints this season. The fact that he has scored 50% of his goals shows that without him, Hasenhuttl’s men may well have been in the bottom three and struggling at the bottom. And if anyone comes calling for him, Southampton should not think about selling him.
