Aston Villa fans have been responding on Twitter to former Villa man Marc Albrighton’s recent comments.
This comes after Villa fan Twitter account @astonforza shared a post on their page relaying quotes made from Albrighton saying he “can’t wait” to face Villa in the semi-final of the Carabao Club for current club Leicester City.
This post then gathered a number of replies from Villa fans who were keen to share their reactions to Albrighton’s words.
Were Villa right to let Marc Albrighton leave the club in 2014?
Yes
No
Here’s a sample of Villa fans responding to Albrighton’s quotes:

Another that left us to win the league. Add Cahill, Young, Barry, Milner in recent history. Just hope Jack doesn’t spot the trend!

The Englishman made 102 appearances for the Birmingham club during his five-year tenure at the club. In those appearances, Albrighton managed to score nine goals and pick up 19 assists along the way (per TransferMarkt). In 2014, Albrighton made the move to Leicester where he became a Premier League champion in 2016.
Now that the two clubs have been drawn together for one of the two semi-finals fixtures at Wembley, Albrighton’s excitement to play his old club again got some Villa fans talking.
Good lad, but nobody can say letting him go wasn’t the right call at the time…Now on the other hand it looks a mad piece of business in hindsight…

What do we think?
It’s nice to see that Albrighton still has positive feelings towards Villa. The Carabao Cup semi-final will certainly be a special day for him when it comes. But as always, the Villa fans will be hoping to see their team progress to the final.
