Aston Villa fans have been expressing their excitement on Twitter over the club’s latest rumoured January transfer target.
This comes after Villa fan Twitter account @astonforza shared a post on their page relaying information originally published by l’equipe (via Get French Football News) that Villa are “set to bid’ for Angers midfielder Baptiste Santamaria next month.
The post also contained an image of Santamaria in action against PSG’s Neymar.
This post then gathered a number of replies from Villa fans who were delighted with this latest transfer link.

The 24-year-old defensive midfielder, who is currently valued at £8.10 million, according to TransferMarkt, has made 135 appearances for Angers in the French league, scoring two goals and getting one assist (per TransferMarkt).
This latest rumour linking the Frenchman to a move to Birmingham has some Villa fans talking.

With the recent injury to John McGinn ruling the midfielder out for three months, maybe a move for Santamaria would be a useful piece of business as McGinn recovers.
