Some Celtic fans are delighted at the news that their club could sign a new sponsorship deal with sports giants Adidas, with their current deal with New Balance set to expire at the end of the season.

The reliable Footy Headlines have revealed earlier today that the Hoops will sign a new deal with Adidas, with the announcement yet to be confirmed. This comes after rumours have been growing that they will sign with Adidas very soon.

The Hoops have had New Balance as their sponsors since the start of the 2015-16 season, but they’ve never had Adidas as their sponsors in history. They had Nike as a sponsor from 2005 to 2015, with Umbro in charge of it before that.

Celtic fans: Are you buzzing about a new Adidas kit

Absolutely buzzing!

Absolutely buzzing!

Not too excited, that's normal!

This news has left many Celtic fans delighted and they are desperate to see Adidas as their sponsor.

So far this season, Celtic are impressing their fans not just in the Premiership but in other competitions too. They have already won the Scottish League Cup and won the final by beating Rangers earlier this month. Alfredo Morelos missed a penalty for Rangers, while a Christopher Jullien strike in the second-half won the Hoops their 19th title.

As things stand, the Hoops are at the top of the Premiership table. They recently beat Aberdeen to take their lead at the top to five points. They have 49 points on board, having scored the highest number of goals in the league-52. They have also conceded the lowest number of goals in the league – 10.

What do we think?

A potential Adidas deal will be huge for Celtic. It is one of the most global brands in world sport and having them sponsor their kits could have an impact on their global branding as well. More than that, depending on the deal budget their financial situation could also improve.
