Aston Villa fans on Twitter have been hoping to see James Chester play a part in Villa’s season this year.
This comes after Villa fan Twitter account @VillaTil1Die shared a post on their page with an image of Chester saying he still “has a role to play” for the club this season.
This post then gathered some replies from fans hoping to see Chester play in Dean Smith’s side before the end of the season.

The Welshman has been sidelined with a knee injury he suffered back in February this year. His last appearance for Villa came back in January when Villa were still in the Championship (per TransferMarkt). Despite not making a competitive appearance for the Villa first-team since January, some Villa fans still have the faith and belief that he will make his return to action for Dean Smith’s side at some point this season.

What do we think?
It would be great to see Chester return to the Villa team after battling such a long injury. But the decision falls in the hands of Smith. If Chester can return to full fitness and get a run of games in the Villa side, it would almost be like a whole new signing for the club and would certainly benefit them with Tyrone Mings currently out injured.
