Fans of Wolverhampton Wanderers have speculated that Nuno Espirito Santo is involved in a ‘protest’ following Tim Spiers’ Twitter post.
According to Spiers, on only two occasions in the Premier League this season has a side not made any substitutions in a match, and on both occasions that was Wolves (as per Tim Spiers).
That then led the Old Gold faithful to speculate that it was to show Nuno’s frustration over the lack of squad depth that his side has been able to sign.

Is this almost like a message to the board regarding transfer funds? ‘The guys I have on the bench aren’t going to make enough of an impact so I need more players that can make a difference…’?

It’s a lack of faith in the rest of the squad to be able to change a game. We’re lucky that the starting eleven are so good.
January is going to be a crucial period.

It’s clearly a kind of protest about the lack of decent investment this summer.

Is there more than meets the eye to Nuno Espirito Santo's lack of substitutions?Yes, he needs more depthNo, don't be so ridiculous |
However, while some speculated that the lack of substitutions was due to his frustration over a less than adequate bench, some supporters had other thoughts on the matter.
I disagree with the no problem line. Thought against Spurs Raul looked very tired as did Doherty, Cutrone/neto fresh legs they couldn’t deal with adamas pace i felt one of them would of impacted the game from around 75/80 min mark. Felt that was a mistake not making any

Well he can’t do right for wrong against Watford in the semi final his subs cost us , not using any against spurs cost us lol , I’d have subbed Jimenez and Jotta just after the equaliser and also Doherty for Bennett , easy after the game mind , still can’t see how we lost lol

What do we think?
While there may be something in Nuno believing his bench is not strong enough to make changes, it may just be that in both instances he did not want to tamper with the flow of the game at any point as both were on a knife edge.
