Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to share their hopes that Genk midfielder Sander Berge will sign for the club in the future.
This comes after Liverpool fan Twitter account @AnfieldEdition shared a post on their page that included quotes from the Norwegian praising the Merseyside club (When speaking to Norwegian broadcaster TV2, via TEAMtalk).
This post then gathered a number of replies from Liverpool fans who were pleased with Berge’s eagerness to play at Anfield.
Here’s a sample of Liverpool fans wanting Berge to sign:
He wouldn’t cost much tbh and I was really impressed with him both games against us so yeah, for sure. Can’t claim to have seen him much before the games against us but know he’s very highly thought of so would be stunned if we hadn’t already followed him closely.

Really good player that can flourish under JK. Loved his pick-passing. He looked like he was fishing. Would imagine him next to Fabinho.

The 21-year-old defensive midfielder played the full 90 minutes in both of Genk’s defeats to Jurgen Klopp’s side in the Champions League group stages. (per Transfermarkt).
get him in

He’s 6’5, physical and young, good ball distribution, he would be good cover for Fab and possibly be converted into a central defender if need be, so yes I would sign him, think he has a low release clause too

What do we think?
If Berge really does want to play for Liverpool in the future, he’s going about it in all the right ways. Praising the club and the fans is a sure-fire way of getting noticed off the pitch. But on the pitch, Berge’s impressive performances are what will get him his desired move to Merseyside.
But as a defensive midfielder, Berge will have tough competition for a place in the first team against Fabinho. However, with both players having played the full 90 minutes in four Champions League games this season, Fabinho has been dribbled past 1.5 times, whereas Berge has only been dribbled past 1.3 times, as well as making 2.3 clearances, with Fabinho yet to register for clearances in the Champions League. Although, Liverpool fans surely won’t be in a rush to see another defensive midfielder as Fabinho has been very impressive this season.
