Liverpool fans on Twitter have been ripping into Dejan Lovren.

This comes after Liverpool news Twitter account @LivEchoLFC shared a post on their official page that asked the question to its followers if Lovren should get more recognition.

This post also contained an article from the Liverpool Echo about the Croatian defender.

The post then went on to gather many replies from Liverpool fans who don’t seem too pleased with the defender.

Here’s what supporters had to say:

The 30-year-old, who is valued at £18 million (Transfermarkt), has filled in for the injured Joel Matip in Liverpool’s recent run of games alongside Virgil van Dijk (per Transfermarkt). A decent performance in the Reds 2-1 win over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Saturday seems to have been overlooked by some fans.

What do we think?

It’s no secret that Lovren hasn’t always been on the best terms with the Liverpool fans during his time at the Merseyside club. Numerous mistakes and poor performances in the past have put the Croatian under pressure from the Anfield crowd over the years.

One example is Lovren’s nightmare first-half against Tottenham in 2017. Lovren played just 31 minutes of the match before Klopp substituted the defender after a horrendous opening half-hour for him and Liverpool.

He certainly seems to have improved in recent times, but there’s always that worry that a mistake could be just around the corner.
