Leeds United captain Liam Cooper will miss the international break due to a small tear in his groin area.
At 11 am on the 11th day of the 11th month (nicely done), the Whites tweeted out the latest injury news from Elland Road, which sadly for Scotland fans was captain Liam Cooper.
In an article the club put out regarding the injury Leeds said: “The injury is not considered to be major and he will work with staff at Thorp Arch with a view to being fit following the international break.” That update would suggest that he may not be on the treatment table for too long and could be back in time for when Marcelo Bielsa’s side take to the field to take on Luton Town in a couple of weeks.
Indeed, many of their fans appeared to take the news with rather positive reactions, with a plethora of them believing it was actually some great timing by the club and defender.

According to a club statement: “Cooper had to be withdrawn in the 72nd minute of the match and scans following the game have shown a small tear in his groin area.” He was withdrawn during the Blackburn match, a game Leeds won 2-1.

With a view to be fit after the international break Who wants to play for Scotland when they can’t qualify anymore anyway

What Do We Think?
The timing does seem very fitting, but surely Cooper wouldn’t want to miss playing for his national side? As long as the injury isn’t serious this is somewhat good news for fans, as now there is no risk of him picking up a more long-term injury whilst on duty during the international break.
