A tweet by Phil Hay had fans excited by the thought of Patrick Bamford and Eddie Nketiah linking up as a strike duo.

The two strikers are yet to feature side by side this season, with Marcelo Bielsa preferring to start Bamford as a lone striker instead.

It seems to be the obvious tactical move, with Nketiah scoring three times and the more-established having bagged four in the Championship this season.

The former Middlesbrough striker has a much higher shot per game ratio of 3.2, compared to the 20-year-old loanee who has an average of just 1.2 shots per game, although that should hardly be a surprise given the amount of action both men have had.

Bamford also beats Nketiah when it comes to the man of the match awards, with the 26-year-old winning two and the Arsenal loanee yet to have had the accolade.

What Do We Think?

Having two strikers that are both proven to score goals is a recipe for success, however what can be considered surprising is that Leeds are the 10th lowest scoring club in the Championship this season. So perhaps some fresh ideas up top wouldn’t be the worst suggestion for Bielsa and co.

Leeds’ next fixture is a tough one at home to QPR, a side they have lost the last two games against. Maybe the fresh striking tactic can be used to overcome this challenge?
